Last updated: October 2, 2026

Alauna — The Art of Listening (“Alauna”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a music player application developed and published by CodeNest Duo. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be accessed, processed, or shared when you use the Alauna application.

1. Information Alauna Accesses

Alauna is designed primarily to play and manage music stored on your Android device. Depending on the features you use, the application may access information associated with your local music library, including:

  • Song titles
  • Artist and album information
  • Genre and other music metadata
  • Album artwork
  • Track duration and numbering information
  • Local music file information and MediaStore identifiers
  • Playlists, favourites, queue information, and playback history
  • Lyrics and other information that you choose to save in the app

This information is primarily used to provide the music-library, playback, playlist, lyrics, metadata, and related features of Alauna.

2. Device Permissions

Alauna may request Android permissions that are necessary for particular features. The permissions requested by the application may include access to music and media stored on your device and, where applicable, microphone access for supported audio visualizer functionality.

Permissions are used only for the functionality associated with the relevant feature. You can manage application permissions through the Android system settings.

3. Microphone and Audio Visualization

Some Alauna visualizer functionality may use microphone access when you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.

Where microphone access is used for visualization, audio information is processed for the purpose of providing the visualizer functionality. Alauna does not use microphone access to record conversations or intentionally collect unrelated audio.

4. Third-Party Services

Alauna may query public third-party services and APIs to provide optional music-related functionality, including artist information, album metadata, artwork, biographies, and other publicly available information.

Depending on the feature and service available in the application, these services may include:

  • Last.fm
  • MusicBrainz
  • Wikipedia

When you use a feature that communicates with a third-party service, information necessary to perform that request may be transmitted to that service. For example, a request may contain music metadata such as an artist name, album name, or track title.

These third-party services operate according to their own privacy policies and terms. Alauna does not control the privacy practices, availability, or data handling practices of third-party services.

You should review the privacy policies and terms of the relevant third-party services when using features that interact with them.

5. Locally Stored Information

Alauna may store application data locally on your device, including library information, playlists, playback history, lyrics, preferences, and other settings required by the application.

Locally stored information remains on your device unless you choose to export, back up, synchronize, share, or otherwise transmit it using a feature provided by Alauna or Android.

6. Backups and Exports

Alauna may provide functionality for creating backups or exporting application information. If you choose to move, share, upload, or otherwise transfer a backup, the destination service or storage provider may process the information contained in that backup.

You are responsible for choosing where your backups are stored and for protecting access to those backups.

7. Data Sharing

Alauna does not sell your personal information.

Information may be transmitted to third-party services when required to provide a feature that you explicitly use, such as retrieving music metadata, artwork, artist information, or other information from an external service.

Alauna may also disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by Alauna. However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Android device, account credentials, exported files, and backups.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Information stored locally by Alauna generally remains on your device until you delete it, remove the application, clear its application data, or otherwise use an available deletion or reset function.

Information sent to third-party services is subject to the retention and deletion policies of those services.

10. Children’s Privacy

Alauna is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children for the purpose of creating accounts or profiles.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through Alauna in a manner that should not have occurred, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Alauna, its features, applicable requirements, or our data practices.

When changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
